Dr. Qin is the Principal Investigator of the CoDeL Lab and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at the Academy of Future Education, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. Her research investigates the development of numerical knowledge and mathematical learning in children.
Dr. Qin specializes in quantitative research methods with a focus on rigorous experimental designs. For data analysis, she fits psychophysical models to understand the functions that govern numerical representations and utilizes mixed-effects models to analyze data from developmental and educational research.
Qi is a PhD student at the Academy of Future Education, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, holding a Master's degree in Basic Psychology from Beijing Normal University (2019) and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology from Soochow University (2016).
Her research focuses on two primary areas: (1) examining the relationship between language and mathematical processing, particularly the cognitive mechanisms underlying algebraic problem-solving, and (2) investigating how home environments (including family socioeconomic status and home math activities) influence early mathematical development in preschool children.
Her research methods include behavioral experiments and psychometric assessments, etc.
Xinyun is a PhD student at the Academy of Future Education, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. She holds a Master's degree in Global Education from Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology from Suzhou University of Science and Technology.
Her research focuses on early childhood mathematical development, with a particular emphasis on the relationships among children's math abilities, math attitudes, and home math environments.
